First club post!

Below is a summary of the issues discussed at the 9-19 meeting after school:

People present: Sean Maden, Leon Osterhaug, Ellen French, Jessie Herzer, Hannah Jones, Breanne Toney, Danielle Donat, Shannon, Rachel Spence

• Treasurers keep track of money – Sean’s going to get current club funds + keep track of stuff

• Fundraising
o Times September 23/24 Saturday/Sunday 9am – 4pm
o Check on parents to see if they can be there

• Meetings
o First meeting – Next Wednesday during the hour lunch after Advisory in D103
- Have food?
o Normal meetings – take a poll
- Have clubs every other week – alternate w/ SfD

• Recruitment
o Go to Advisory periods and talk to them
o Crist’s idea – getting history teachers to recommend students

• Fall State
o Base rate: $92
o Letter/Parent permission handed out – See Hannah for more details
o Dates: Nov 18 – 19 (Sat/Sun)
o Transportation
- Community Transit or personal cars
o Chaperones

• Club Fair
o Sign-ups for both

• Fall leadership convention for JSA
o September 30th
o Odea

• Joining forces between SfD and JSA

• Websites AND email
o Making emails link to the website to increase people going on

• Trip to Olympia – tours, sit in w/ people

• Speakers at Third Place Books
o Seattle Times – Entertainment Section
